PhD Web Community

The UCM English Linguistics PhD Community comprises an international community of 32 faculty members as supervisors and over 60 students from 10 different countries and all corners of Spain. All our students possess a high level of fluency in both written and oral English, with 70% of the dissertations being written in that language. As for gender, our student community integrates a high number of women, reaching 60-65% yearly. Though most of our students come directly from university, some also join the programme as experienced professionals in the field of translation or education at all levels.

Our mission is to provide students with clear opportunities for learning and growth both as future experts and individuals. Though we don’t have a complete picture yet, most of our recent PhD postgraduates are developing their careers as university teachers (63,3%), teachers of secondary Education (13,3%) or in occupations related to their research in the private sector (6%).

Here is an e-print catalogue of some of our dissertations, excluding voluntary embargoes. Alternatively you can use TESEO, a database containing information about doctoral theses.

And here is a short sample of who we are.
