Vanessa Encinas Tuesta is currently a PhD candidate at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting, with a specialization in English, from the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and an MA in Teacher Training from the same university. Her academic and professional background combines translation and interpreting with language teaching, with experience in both national and international contexts.

As part of the Erasmus+ program, she completed an internship as a Spanish Language Assistant in Palermo, Italy. She subsequently worked as an English – Spanish translator at the International Civil Servants Unit of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation in Madrid.

Her professional experience includes serving as a United Nations Volunteer, providing EN-SP interpreting services for the international NGO GCAP, as well as working for the Spanish National Police Force, particularly in the areas of immigration, asylum, and family and women's affairs. 

Her dissertation is tentatively titled Analysis of English – Spanish interpretation and translation deviations during legal proceedings in public institutions and its impact on migrant women victims of gender-based violence. Her supervisors are Dr. Marta Nadales Ruíz and Dr. Arsenio Andrades Moreno.

In addition to her academic and professional work, she is the author of a novel:
