My name is Marta Jaén Campos and my field of interest is CLIL/bilingual education. I graduated in English Philology from the UCM and took a MA in TEFL at the UCM as well. During my training at the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (EOI), I could do some research on the language courses pre-service CLIL teachers were offered. That is when it all started. After that, I worked as an EFL teacher at a bilingual school for seven years. Such work experience made me reflect on the changing role of English teachers nowadays, especially in CLIL contexts.
I went back to the UCM to do a MA in English Linguistics and I am now working on my PhD dissertation, which focuses on how CLIL could benefit from the redefinition of EFL teachers and the transformation of the EFL subject at Secondary Education.
I have also contributed to conferences such as AESLA (Jaén, 2017), CIEB (Madrid, 2017), UPCEL (Madrid, 2017, 2019) or Anglophonia (Zagreb, 2019). In 2020, I had the chance to complete a research stay in Vienna (Universität Wien), supervised by Dr. Julia Hüttner. I am currently working at the Valencian International University (VIU) as a teacher in the MA in Bilingual Education, the MA in TEFL and in the Primary Teaching Degree.
