Montserrat Camarasa Llácer

My name is Montserrat Camarasa Llácer and I'm a 2nd year PhD student. The working title of my dissertation is: "Misogynistic Language in the Opinions of the Supreme Court of the United States: A Diachronic Discursive Analysis" which aims to perform an analysis of sexist biases within the language of the opinions written the the U.S. Supreme Court from 1950 until 2025, using the framework of critical discourse analysis theories.

My research interests deal with sociolinguistics, critical discourse analysis, discourse-historical analysis and diachronic studies of language evolution.
Aside from my work as a PhD student, I am also working full-time as an in-house translator at TJX Europe, where I translate into Spanish and Catalan. My background has always involved both translation and linguistic research, so I am happy to be able to combine both of my passions now.
