My name is Inés de la Villa Vecilla and I graduated in English Studies at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2020). As a graduate student, I was awarded with the Erasmus+ Studies scholarship (2018-2019), through which I spent two semesters in Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem (Budapest, Hungary). Moreover, I obtained the collaboration grant (2019-2020), granted by the Spanish Ministry of Education (Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional) meant for last-year graduate students to develop research tasks in university departments (Departamento de Estudios Ingleses: Lingüística y Literatura, UCM). In 2021 I completed the MA in English Linguistics: New Applications and International Communication (UCM). Currently, I hold a predoctoral contract (FPU) at UCM, granted by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities (Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades). My PhD thesis, which deals with research methods in the area of language attitudes, is being tutored by Dra. Gitte Kristiansen and Dr. Mario Serrano Losada and it is part of a research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation titled "Experimental techniques in sociolinguistic research: methodological effects in the study of language attitudes (SOCRATTEX)" (PID2021-127101NB-I00).

My teaching experience (2020-2023) includes lectures and seminars in the subjects ‘English Language for Commerce Management’ (BA in Commerce), ‘English Literature until the 1800s’, ‘English Semantics’, and ‘Varieties of English’ (BA in English Studies).

As part of my educational and academic process, I have done a short stay as a Research Associate in Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London under the supervision of Dr. Sophie Holmes-Elliot (April-June 2023).
