Esta asignatura proporcionará a los estudiantes un conocimiento de los principales periodos, movimientos, autores, temas y formas de la poesía y el teatro en lengua inglesa, a través del análisis e interpretación de algunos de sus textos fundamentales. Asimismo, se desarrollarán habilidades relacionadas con el análisis y la lectura crítica de los textos.
This course will provide students with knowledge of the main periods, movements, authors, themes, and forms of poetry and drama in the English language, through the analysis and interpretation of some of their fundamental texts. Additionally, skills related to the analysis and critical reading of texts will be developed.
Requisitos
Students are expected to have an upper-intermediate level of English to follow classes, read assigned texts, and take exams in the language.
Objetivos
"Análisis de Textos Literarios II: Poesía y Teatro en Lengua Inglesa" ofrece a los alumnos una panorámica de los textos fundamentales de la poesía y el teatro de los países de habla inglesa. Los objetivos de la asignatura son los siguientes/"Literary Text Analysis II: Poetry and Drama in English" offers students an overview of fundamental poetry and drama texts from English-speaking countries. The objectives of the subject are as follows:
Dar a conocer autores y obras representativos del teatro y la poesía en lengua inglesa.
Propiciar el aprendizaje de lo que significa el ethos literario,
Familiarizar a los estudiantes con las distintas escuelas criticas
Favorecer la lectura crítica y comprensiva de textos producidos por otras gentes, épocas y culturas.
Enseñar la dimensión humanística de la literatura, entendida no como un catálogo de autores y de obras, sino como vehículo de expresión de emociones, estructuras de sentimientos, pensamientos, postulados ideológicos, etc.
Introduce representative authors and works of English poetry and drama.
Promote an understanding of the literary 'ethos'.
Familiarize students with different critical schools.
Encourage critical and comprehensive reading of texts from diverse people, eras and cultures.
Teach the humanistic dimension of literature, understanding it not as a mere catalog of authors and works, but as a vehicle for expressing emotions, thoughts, ideological postulates, etc.

ANÁLISIS DE TEXTOS LÍRICOS Y DRAMÁTICOS EN LENGUA INGLESA/ANALYSIS OF LYRICAL AND DRAMATIC TEXTS IN ENGLISH
- Conceptos básicos para el análisis de textos líricos y dramáticos.
- Fundamentos metodológicos para el análisis de textos líricos y dramáticos.
- Principales contextos, autores, obras y tendencias en la historia de la poesía y del teatro en lengua inglesa.
- Todos los contenidos se abordarán desde el análisis crítico de textos representativos de la historia de la poesía y el teatro en lengua inglesa.
- Basic concepts for analyzing lyrical and dramatic texts.
- Methodological foundations for analyzing lyrical and dramatic texts.
- Main contexts, authors, works, and trends in the history of English-language poetry and drama.
- All content will be approached through the critical analysis of representative texts from the history of English-language poetry and drama.
