Access Requirements
In accordance with Article 6 of Royal Decree 99/2011, students may access official doctoral programmes if they meet one of the following conditions:
- Holding an official Spanish university degree or its equivalent, and a master's degree, provided they have completed at least 300 ECTS credits total in the two stages of official university education, or holding a degree with a qualification of excellence from the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) requiring at least 300 ECTS credits.
- Holding an official Spanish university degree of at least 300 ECTS credits, in the case of degrees that encompass level 7 competencies of the Spanish Qualifications Framework for Higher Education, under the terms established in the corresponding curriculum.
- Graduates who, after admission to a master's degree programme, have obtained a minimum of 60 ECTS credits, and who have passed the first-year training and research component leading to a specific doctoral programme.
- Holders of an equivalent foreign degree issued by an institution of higher education abroad belonging to the EHEA, provided this degree qualifies them in the country of issue for access to doctoral programmes.
- Holders of a foreign higher education degree that does not require prior homologation, once the University has verified that it certifies a level of training equivalent to an official Spanish university master's degree, and that it qualifies the holder in the country of issue for access to doctoral programmes. Access through this route shall not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree or any recognition for purposes other than admission to doctoral programmes.
- Holders of another doctoral degree.
