MobileKids is an ERC Starting Grant project directed by Prof. Laura Merla from the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Families and Sexualities of the University of Louvain (Cirfase, UCLouvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium). It seeks to understand the experience of children who live in divorced or separated families practicing shared custody arrangements, and identify their specific needs through the children’s own accounts of their lives. This means determining how, and under what circumstances, teenagers appropriate their multi-local lives and develop new forms of habitus that incorporate the capacity to maintain social relations in a multi-local context and to appropriate mobility and virtual connectedness.
The Cirfase is currently recruiting a PhD student to join the team (start date: September 2019). The successful applicant will be offered a 2-years scholarship. This scholarship is likely to be renewed, depending on the obtaining of additional funding.
Deadline for application: 2 July 2019
