A Doctor of Ancient History and Bachelor of Arabic Philology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, she is Associate Professor of Ancient History at the School of Geography and History of Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She is currently Deputy Director of the Hispanic Epigraphic Archive, a member of the editorial board of the Hispania Epigraphica series and Editor of the Gerión magazine.
Her line of work is mainly focused on the History of Roman Hispania, with a particular emphasis on its epigraphic documentation and the written transmission thereof. The majority of her research experience therefore falls into this category. As an associate scholar and as an integral member or collaborating researcher, she has been involved in various research projects of a national nature. She is currently Lead Researcher on the project entitled Corpus de manuscritos de la Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid para la Historia Antigua de España (Ref. PID2019-109530GB-I00, Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities) and a member of the project entitled Archivo Virtual para las Investigaciones sobre Patrimonios Epigráficos Medievales de la Comunidad de Madrid (AVIPES-CM, Ref. H2019/HUM-5742, with sponsorship from the European Social Fund, led by Dr. I. Velázquez). She has also been involved in overseas projects, including in France (Programme Internationale PETRAE Hispaniarum; Villes et territoires dans la vallée du Douro à l'époque romaine y La guerre et ses traces. Conflits et sociétés en Hispanie à l'époque de la conquête romaine (IIIe-Ier s.av. J.-C.), three by the CNRS under the leadership of Dr. M. Navarro -Institut Ausonius, Bordeaux, France, European projects (Ubi erat lupa -2002-0462/001 CLT CA 22- European Union, Culture Programme 2000, led in Spain by Dr. J. Gómez-Pantoja) and international projects (ADOPIA. Atlas digital Onomastique de la Péninsule Ibérique Antique, led by Dr. Milagros Navarro Caballero and Dr. Jonathan Edmondson, York University, Toronto, Canada). Similarly, she forms part of the research groups on Ciudades romanas (G. 930692) and Textos epigráficos antiguos de la Península Ibérica (G. 930750).
