Anna A. Novokhatko

Anna A. Novokhatko studied Classics at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow and Humbold-Universität zu Berlin (B.A. and M.A. 2000) and continued her PhD studies at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow and Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg (Ph.D 2004). She has taught Ancient Greek and Latin Language and Literature at the Universities Lomonossov of Moscow (2003-2006), and Freiburg (2008-2019). Since 2020 she is Associate Professor of Classical Philology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Her research interests include history and terminology of Ancient scholarship, textual criticism, Ancient Greek Comedy. In her Habilitation Thesis (Freiburg, 2018) she explored pre-Alexandrian approaches to textual scholarship. Furthermore, she is interested in cognitive theories of metaphor and ancient considerations on metaphor, as well as methodologies and development of Digital Classics. She is member of scientific committee of the journal Frammenti sulla Scena (online). Studi sul dramma antico frammentario and participates in/leads various research projects.
