Objectives
- To provide cross-cutting knowledge, skills and competencies in the field of oncology, to enable integration into an international and globalized professional world.
- Graduates of this program will be able to understand the complex molecular, cellular, and pathophysiological mechanisms characteristic of cancer and will acquire the ability to design new experimental approaches, new therapeutic or diagnostic strategies, as well as to process and analyze complex data. Furthermore, they will acquire the ability to communicate effectively with professionals in the field of oncology in basic or preclinical research, translational research, and clinical settings.
- Another objective is to provide highly specialized training so that basic scientists, throughout their professional careers, can delve deeper into the study of the biological and pathophysiological processes that give rise to cancer.
- The aim is to train professionals who can develop studies that identify: new biomarkers and methods for diagnosing and classifying different types of tumors, as well as new molecular factors and therapeutic targets that allow the development of new strategies for cancer prevention and treatment.
- The aim is that the training acquired will allow graduates to develop research or research support activities in oncology both within the public sector (universities, research centers, hospitals and health research institutes) and the private sector (pharmaceutical, biotechnological companies and service providers in the biomedical sector) both in Spain and internationally.
