Full Professor at the Quantitative Methods Department of CUNEF (2020-). Formerly Lecturer at the Department of Computer and Automatic Architecture of the Faculty of Information Technology (2006-2020) of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and Coordinating Lecturer of the Languages and Systems and Artificial Intelligence area of the Universidad Nebrija (2004-2006).  Degree in Mathematical Science specialising in Computation Science (1991 from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Doctorate from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid on the Computational Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence Programme (2004) at the ETSI Telecommunications Engineering School Diploma in “Tackling the Challenges of Big Data” in Big Data Analytics (2014) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Lead Researcher at the consortium comprising the SOCIALBIGDATA-CM project in “Monitoring and analysis of social change based on Big Data", under the European Social Fund round for R&D activity programmes among research groups in the Autonomous Region of Madrid in social sciences and humanities (2015). Participation in competitive national research projects. Lead Researcher on various research projects under Article 83 of the Spanish Universities Act involving new technologies and Big Data with such companies and institutions as AENOR, OCA Media Planning Group and Clínica Nuestra Señora de La Paz. Head of the Big & Open Data area of the UCM GRASIA research group. Project evaluator for the national scientific and technological promotion agency (FONTYC - Fund for Scientific and Technological Research) of Argentina, and the Fonds Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek-Vlaanderen (FWO) in Belgium. External evaluator of international theses at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia (2011-). Participation on the scientific and organising committee of various national and international congresses since 2008. Lecturer on the Teacher Training Plan of the UCM Lifelong Training Centre.
