Teresa Rodríguez Ramalle

Teresa Rodríguez Ramalle is Associate Professor of Spanish Language at the Complutense University of Madrid in the Faculty of Information Sciences and a member of the Department of Spanish Language and Literature Theory, of which she is deputy director. She was Director of Courses for Foreigners at the Menéndez Pelayo International University and Director of the Master's Degree course in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language taught at this same university in collaboration with the Cervantes Institute. She is currently Coordinator of the Doctorate in Journalism at the Faculty of Information Sciences.

She participated in research projects subsidised by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Innovation, Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Autonomous Community of Madrid and the Complutense University of Madrid and was the main researcher of the projects: Grammar and discourse: study of sentence and discursive relationships (FFI2010-20862), from 2010 to 2013, and Grammar and discourse: linguistic procedures of communicative interaction (FFI2013-41323-P) from 2014 to 2017. She is currently a researcher in the project Spanish grammatical variation: microparameters in the syntax-semantics-discourse interfaces (FFI2017-87140-C4-3-P).

Her works revolve around different aspects of Spanish syntax and the relationship between syntax and discourse. She is the author of different articles published in journals indexed in JCR and Scopus; some from the last five years are: “Evidentiality and illative markers in Spanish” (Journal of Pragmatics, 2015), “A discourse-based approach to some uses of conjunction that in Romance languages” (Languages ​​in Contrast, 2015), “Around the pragmatic values ​​of evidentiality : a new approach to the relationships between evidentiality and irony in Spanish” (Linguistic Research Magazine, 2019),“Discourse and syntax: around negation with interjections” (Lingüística Española Actual, 2019).

She also published articles in books from publishers indexed in SPI: "Gerunds and participles" (coord. Javier Gutiérrez-Rexach, Encyclopaedia of Hispanic Linguistics, Routledge Publishing, 2016), “Adverbs and informative structure in the preverbal margin of subordinate sentences in old Spanish”, with Cristina Matute (ed. María Victoria Pavón, Inter-rational relations in Spanish, Mouton de Gruyter, 2016), “The use of placements in the study of the relationship between adjectives and their derivatives in -mind” (ed. María Martínez-Atienza, Between morphology, syntax and semantics: Limits and intersections. Tirant lo Blanch, 2020).

She also published the books La gramática de los adverbios en –mente (UAM Publications, 2003), Manual de sintaxis del español (Castalia, 2005), Las formas no personales del verbo (Arco-Libros, 2008) and Las relaciones sintáticas (Summary, 2015.)

She is a member of the research group DIME (Discourse and the media) of the Faculty of Information Sciences and editorial secretary of the journal Círculo de Lingüística Aplicada a la Comunicación, which is based in this same faculty.
