Natasia Matucci

Associate Professor of Political Philosophy, Department of Political Sciences, Communication and International Relations at University of Macerata (Italy). She obtained the national permit for the position of Associate Professor of Political Philosophy (2018-2027).

From 2016, she has been Delegate of the Vice-chancellorship of fairness, equality and equal opportunities policies at University of Macerata (Italy).

From 2019, she has been Deputy Director of the Department of Political Sciences, Communication and International Relations at University of Macerata (Italy).

Training

PhD in Theory of Law and Politics at University of Macerata (Italy) in 2003.

From 2003 to 2007, research scholar at the Institute of Philosophy of Law at University of Macerata (Italy), completing a study on “The Kantian policy perspective in light of contemporary problems”.

From 2009 to 2014, researcher of Political Philosophy at the Department of Political Sciences, Communication and International Relations at University of Macerata (Italy) and professor of Political Philosophy and Philosophy of Human Rights.

Teaching 

She is currently a professor of Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Human Rights and Political Language and Political Communication at University of Macerata (Italy).

Joint organiser of the International Summer School in Gender Studies and co-director of the training course entitled “Gender, politics and institutions”, University of Macerata (Italy).

Besides various Italian universities, she has engaged in seminar activities, teaching and conferences at Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville (School of Political Sciences), at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (School of Political Sciences), at Universidad de Burgos (School of Political Sciences), at Universidad de Zaragoza (School of Journalism), at Universidad de Málaga (School of Political Sciences) and at Universidad de Coimbra (School of Philosophy).

Memberships

She forms part of the Managing Body of the National Conference of Equality Organisations at Italian Universities. She is chair of the CUG (Single Guarantee Committee) at University of Macerata (Italy). She is a member of the “Working group on gender issues” created at the CRUI (Conference of Vice-chancellors of Italian Universities).

She is director of the editorial collection entitled “Political Theory” and co-director of “Arachne Gender Issues and Studies”.

She forms part of the scientific committee of the journal entitled “Postfilosofie”, the journal entitled “Metábasis. Filosofia e comunicazione”, the editorial board of the journal entitled “Política y Sociedad” (Universidad Complutense de Madrid), of the editorial committee of the journal entitled “Heteroglossi”, of the editorial collection entitled “Speculum civitatis Teoria politica, potere e immaginario collettivo” of Mimesis (Milan-Udine).

Member of SIFP (Sociedad italiana de Filosofía Política), of AECPA (Asociación Española de Ciencia Política y de la Administración) and of Internationale Günther Anders-Gesellschaft.

She is a member of the faculty teaching the Doctorate in Global Studies at University of Macerata.

She has taken part in final doctorate committees for University of Bari, University of Insubria di Varese, Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville and University La Sapienza Roma.

Research projects

She has been a member of projects of national interest (PRIN) and European projects. As PI, she coordinated the European AGE project (Amnesia Gulag in Europe) funded as part of the Europe for Citizens programme.

A university project on violence against women and one on populism and immigration.
