Mª Antonia Navascués Sanagustín

Researcher at the University Mathematics and Applications Institute of the Universidad de Zaragoza. She completed her doctorate at the same University. She has been a visiting lecturer at the University of Maryland (Maryland, USA), Australian National University (Canberra, Australia), Vanderbilt University (Tennessee, USA) and University of Central Florida (USA). She was secretary of the Spanish Royal Mathematical Society from November 2015 until March 2017. She is currently Regional Delegate of the Society in Aragon, and has been a member of the Editorial Committee of its Bulletin since 2015.

She has served as a guest editor of various special volumes on fractal theory and applications, and other topics of applied mathematics. Member of the editorial committee of various international journals. She is also a Topic Editor of the publication Fractal & Fractional. Director of the research group "Fractal Quantification Methods". Her publications focus on the study and construction of fractal functions, as well as various applications of mathematics: quantified electroencephalography, numerical treatment of experimental signals, and numerical and functional analysis.

She has been Lead Researcher on a number of national and international projects under official research and educational innovation funding rounds. Currently the director of a research group at the Indian Institute of Technology of Madras, where she has been the tutor on several doctoral theses. Participant at international conferences, serving on both the scientific committee and the organising committee. She has likewise served as an external examiner of various international doctorands (in India and Australia). Included in 2019 on the '2% Top Researchers in the World' list produced at the University of Stanford.
