Guadalupe Soria Tomás

Head Professor of Spanish Literature at the Universidad Carlos III (UC3M) in Madrid. Doctor in Humanities (UC3M, 2008) –Extraordinary Doctorate Award, 2011-, Diploma of Advanced Studies in Spanish Literature, 2004 (UC3M), Higher Diploma in English, 2004 (Escuela Oficial de Idiomas - EOI) and Higher Diploma in Dramatic Art, 2001 (Royal Higher College of Performing Arts - RESAD). I was a predoctoral fellow at the Fundación UC3M (2004-2008) and a research fellow at the Instituto de Estudios Zamorano (IEZ)/ Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) (2008). My lines of research are modern and contemporary literature and theatre, the creation of cultural imaginaries and actor training. I was the head researcher for La iconografía de las pasiones: pintura y teatro (CAM/UC3M) 2011. I have also participated in four National Plan projects (2006-09), (2012-15), (2016-19) and (2020-23), one project at the University of Trento (running since 2013) and one complementary initiative (2011-13). I have completed three post-doctoral research stays at the Centre de Recherche sur l’Espagne Contemporaine CREC/Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle and another two teaching stays with the Erasmus Teaching Programme. I have been a member of "Julio Caro Baroja" University Institute Of Historiography since 2007 (–by ANEP evaluation, 2013- recognised as an LRU-approved Institute; part of the UC3M), and I have been its academic secretary since 2018. I belong to The Spanish Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies and the International Association of Twenty-First Century Theatre (Asociación Internacional de Teatro Siglo XXI). I have been a co-director for the VOGUE-UC3M Master’s in Fashion and Beauty Communication and have been deputy director since the 2019-20 academic year. I was a member of the jury for the National Theatre “Calderón de la Barca” Award for New Authors in 2015 and 2018 -order Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport (MECD) 4/5/2018 (Spanish National Gazette 16/5/2018) and order MECD 14/5/2015 (BOE 3/6/2015) -. I was shortlisted for the Leandro Fernández de Moratín Prize for theatrical studies awarded by the Spanish Association of Stage Directors (Asociación de Directores de Escena de España) in 2011 and 2012.
