Chair
Isabel Tajahuerce Ángel currently holds the post of Representative of the Rector for Equality. A professor at the School of Sciences and Information since 1990, she teaches Communication and Gender, History of Political Thought and Communication and Social Movements. She is director of the Seminar on Biotechnology Research, Bioethics, Robotics and Simulations from a Gender and Communication Perspective. She is a member of the Board of the Feminist Research Institute, where she runs the Master’s Degree in Gender Violence: prevention and intervention from various angles. She runs the Revista Historia y Comunicación Social magazine and is a member of various editorial boards, including those of the Revista Reflexiones magazine (University of Costa Rica), Comunicación y Género and SEECI.
She has extensive experience in research and management. She collaborates with various international universities, especially in Latin America, and has held various academic positions at UCM such as Vice-Rector for Spreading and Communicating Culture, Vice-Rector for Culture, Sport and Social Policy, Director of the Equality Unit and Representative of the Rector for Equality, among others.
