My name is Alba López. I am currently doing my PhD in English Linguistics at the Department of English Language and Linguistics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), where I got my degree in English Philology. Some years after I completed a Master’s Degree in High Education at the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR), and I have been working as a secondary English teacher since then. Last year I obtained my second master’s degree in English Applied Linguistics at the Universidad Nacional Española a Distancia (UNED) since I wanted to continue my academic background.
At the moment, I am working on my PhD, which is focused on how Covid-19 has affected the English as a Second Language teaching and learning processes. I am trying to prove how the pandemic and the lockdown have changed (if they have) the way of learning and teaching English focusing on different aspects like motivation, performance, or results, among others. Other areas of interest are gamification or translation of novels and plays.
