Master's Degrees

Final Master’s Thesis (FMT)

The Final Master’s Thesis (FMT) is an original work carried out individually by the student under the direction and supervision of an Academic Tutor, the results of which will be presented in the form of a monograph (or in the form of a computer application with theoretical support) and will be publicly defended before an examining board. Before the date set for each academic year, students must register their thesis online, taking into account the regulations.

Procedure for the defence of the FMT 2024

Each student will send a copy of the FMT in pdf with the signed statement of best practice attached by email to his/her tutor and to the FMT coordinator (antmar17@ucm.es). In addition, they will upload the documentation together with the FMT in the task enabled for this purpose in the virtual space of the subject in Moodle. The coordinator, in turn, will send the FMT to the members of the examining board; the presidents of each examining board will also receive the reports signed by the tutors and the evaluation sheets to be completed at the end of the defence. Each student will be duly informed of the date and time assigned.

The chairperson of the examining board will convene by email the members of the examining board, the student and, as a public event, those who wish to attend the defence. To do so, they must have written an email to the coordinator sufficiently in advance, who will send the details to the president of the respective panel so that they have the invitation to attend the event.

Assessment

The defence of the FMT takes place on a face-to-face basis before an examining board, subject to a positive report from the academic tutor. The student must deposit the copies in due time and form, together with the duly completed Commitment to the Code of Ethics and the Authorisation for Dissemination.
