The Research Group on Innovation Economics and Policy (GRINEI) has extensive experience in the analysis, planning and evaluation of technology transfer processes between creative institutions and users of scientific and technological knowledge.

How does it work |
Innovation Management.
First, the evaluation of systems of production-use-diffusion of scientific and technological knowledge, with particular emphasis on the relations between university and companies in three different levels: 1) actions based on the contracting of R&D services by Part of companies to universities, 2) the implementation of university patents, as a result of research and 3) the creation of technology-based companies.
Second, the implementation of an Integrated Management System of R & D results. To this end, a model for planning, evaluating and monitoring these R & D activities is available; this model is a computerized system of up-to-date monitoring of the activities and automatically elaborates indicators that allow to evaluate the different steps of the transfer processes.
Third, GRINEI has a methodology for the creation of Technology Based Companies (EBTs), developed with universities and research centers in Madrid, as a result of the experience acquired in the coordination of the Virtual Nursery of Companies of that Community. The methodology ranges from awareness-raising to the creation of knowledge and technology units up to the start-up of companies, through training programs in two fundamental aspects: on the one hand, the training of entrepreneurs (aimed at researchers who want to undertake the tasks of creating companies) and, on the other, the training of promoters, addressed to the heads of technology transfer units responsible for promoting the EBTs.

Advantages |
The first great advantage lies in the long experience of the research team, which has developed its own methodologies, combining the three basic fields of transfer, collaboration in R & D, Patents and EBTS databases, surveys and in-depth interviews.
Another advantage to note is the close relationship it maintains with the Madrid Science Park, which would be the preferred destination of spin-off companies that can be developed.

Where has it been developed |
The fundamental basis lies in the UCM Innovation and Innovation Policy Research Group (GRINEI) and in its active participation in the management of transfer programs - such as the Virtual Community Nursery of the Community of Madrid - and in The design of technology transfer systems in different areas of national, regional and local administration. It also maintains a strategic partnership with the Madrid Science Park and the Innovative Business Forum.
Further. With more than 15 years of experience in interuniversity courses in Economics and Innovation Management, they are currently the Interuniversity Master in Economics and Innovation Management (MEGIN) and the Interuniversity Doctorate in Economics and Innovation Management (DEGIN) , In both cases, in collaboration with the Universities Polytechnic and Autonomous University of Madrid.
The working group has participated in several European Research Projects around the concepts of "Technological Change" and "Innovation" and has made numerous contracts for the analysis and evaluation of this phenomenon for various national and international institutions such as CDTI, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Ministry of Industry, Governments of different autonomies, ECLAC, Ibero-American General Secretariat, United Nations, European Commission The European Patent and Trademark Office and the Eureka Program.
