Altamira's Cave

The Spectraroboscan is a robot designed by the University with spectral measurent capacities in selected points. It was designed and adapted to extreme humidity conditions that are present in the Altamira's cave. The objective is to measure spectral data with high precission. Thus the evolution of the temporal conservation of the pigments can be evaluated.

The equipment is entirely controlled by Matlab mathematical calculation software, which allows the data obtained to be extracted and evaluated for subsequent scientific study.

SOFTWARE

We design scientific instrumentation software with an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI). The main GUI is typically designed with Matlab and compiled into an executable file for installation on any computer.

We are capable of designing software for multi-connected instruments such as the SpectraRoboscan, which can control three stepper motors, one CCD, one rangefinder, one spectrophotometer (Photo Research PR655 spectroradiometer), and one illumination device.

VF_simulator is a tool for optical simulations using vector field calculations, using algorithms based on Fermat's principle, as an alternative to traditional ray-tracing optical simulation tools. It provides traditional photometric information such as illuminance maps and new vector field map information.
