Article 48. Statutes of the Complutense University of Madrid

Composition

Members of the Governing Council:

1. The Rector, who will chair the Council, the Registrar and the Chief Operating Officer.

2. Fifty members representing the university community, of which:

a) The Rector will appoint a number of members who, added to the Vice-Rectors, will make a total of fifteen.

b) Twenty will be chosen by the Academic Senate members in a vote by sector corresponding to:

— Eleven permanent Doctoral Professors at the University.
— Two from the remaining Academic and Research Staff.
— Five Students.
— Two from the Administration and Services Staff.

c) Fifteen will be chosen by the Faculty Deans, School Directors and Department and University Research Institute Directors, corresponding to:

— Ten from the School Deans and Directors.
— Four from the Department Directors, with each of them belonging to one of the four scientific fields of Social and Legal Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Science and Engineering, and Health Sciences.
— One from the University Research Institute Directors.

3. Three members of the Social Council who are not part of the university community.
