General structure of the study plan

The programme (180 ECTS) spans three years, divided into six semesters.

Programme for students starting BAES up to 2025/26:

  • In semesters 1, 2 and 3 (92 ECTS), you follow the truncus communis, including introductory courses to various disciplines, multidisciplinary courses on Europe, a methodology track and language courses.
  • In semesters 4, 5 and 6, you choose a major (60 ECTS) and a minor module (18 ECTS) and you develop a bachelor's thesis (10 ECTS, includes laboratory).

Programme for students starting BAES from 2026/27 onwards:

  • In semesters 1, 2 and 5 (96 ECTS), you follow the truncus communis, including introductory courses to various disciplines, multidisciplinary courses on Europe, a methodology track and language courses.
  • In semesters 3, 4 and 6, you follow a major (60 ECTS) and a minor module (18 ECTS) and you develop a bachelor's thesis (6 ECTS).

 Specialisations

You choose one major module for up to 60 ECTS (Elective Courses 1 - 5) and one minor module for at least 18 ECTS (Elective Course 6) out of two different specialisations:

  •  Law
  •  Politics and International Relations
  •  Sociology, Communication and Education
  •  Business and Economics
  •  History
  •  Languages and Culture

Each university offers different modules, visit the specialisation offered by universities.
