Industrial Process Intensification Lab
The Industrial Process Intensification Laboratory provides the experimental infrastructure for the design, optimization and scale-up of innovative chemical and environmental processes.
Caprolactam manufacturing processes
Objectives: To improve the quality of the caprolactam acting between the steps subsequent to obtaining the mixture cyclohexanol / cyclohexanone and before the oxidation step. It also aims to improve energy efficiency and the use of raw materials.
Computational tools, integrating thermodynamic and kinteic aspects to develop models capable of optimizating and reproducing real operation conditions.
Etherification of Glycerol to obtain additives
Objectives: Valorization of a byproduct in the production of biodiesel for high added value compounds through etherification processes.
