Dear IMI members:
It is always encouraging to see the work of our researchers recognized. Isabel Molina’s recent award is a great example of this. Achievements like this strengthen our community and inspire others to keep pushing forward. This distinction adds to others recently received by researchers of the Institute, which is a real source of pride, and reflects the high level of research carried out at IMI.
Gustavo Adolfo Muñoz Fernández
June 23. IMI researcher Isabel Molina received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Small Area Estimation (SAE Award). This international award recognizes individuals for outstanding work in research, applications, and education in this field, with candidates considered worldwide. It is one of the main recognitions in small area estimation and highlights Isabel’s long-standing contributions.

7) Integral Challenge
Stimulated by the succcessful competition “Premio de Integración Rápida”, the IMI has decided to initiate a specific section concerning the always challenging subject of integration. More than quickly-to-be-solved (indefinite) integrals, the purpose of this section is to propose interesting types of integrals that are deeply connected with many areas of mathematics, from the theory of special functions to geometric problems and numerical methods. Some of the integrals proposed are far from being solved by a standard method, but require a combination of different approaches and even the use of more sophisticated techniques. However, it is hoped that the readers have as much fun in solving the challenges as the Editors in proposing them.
