1) A Message from the IMI Director

Dear Colleagues,

Today is March 14, the International Day of Mathematics, and, as it is tradition, a worldwide celebration is organized with the guidance of the International Mathematical Union. This year, the theme of the celebration is "Playing with Maths": all over the world, people will be taking part in events mixing games and mathematics, for children and adults alike, the full list of which can be browsed on the webpage of the International Day.

I wish to congratulate all of you on this special day, dedicated to the number π, and hope you enjoy the mathematical celebrations.
