The combination of the high sensitivity SQUID system and the intrinsically high noise suppression offers a potential for maximum sensitivity in the characterization of the magnetic properties of systems with very low magnetization, such as the magnetism of Au or ZnO nanoparticles, or systems that require low excitation fields, such as spin glasses or high-temperature superconductors.
