Prepare the following documents:

• Your passport with 90-day D type visa, and entry stamp to Spain.

• Enrollment certificate with the bank stamp as a proof of the tuition fee payment or UCM admission letter (which can justify that you are admitted as UCM´s student with an academic schedule requiring attendance no less than 6 months)

Apply for an appointment online for handing in the documents and leaving your fingerprint.

Choose “Madrid” and ”Expedición de Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero (Huellas)” Choose the date and time that best suits you to attend this appointment.

You should hand in all the documents listed below (original and photocopy of every document): 

• Printed and filled application form EX-17

• Valid passport with D-type visa and  the entry stamp to Spain

• UCM´s enrollment payment certificate or the admission letter

• Referral note of the municipal registration (volante de empadronamiento: certificate of your regular residential address): if you live in Madrid capital city, click here:

• 3 photographs of ID card size (32 x26 mm)

• Receipt of the application fee payment form 790 (code 012)

You will be informed to pick up your NIE within approximately 40 days, then, you will have your ID card that authorizes your stay in Spain as a foreign student.
