Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer is nominated and appointed by the Rector, with the agreement of the Social Council. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the overall management of the administrative and financial services of the University.
Concepción Martín Medina received bachelor’s degrees in Geography and History with a major in Contemporary History, and in Primary Education with a major in Human Sciences. In addition, she has extensive training in the field of Management. She holds Master’s degrees in Public Administration and in Occupational Safety and Health, specializing in Workplace Safety. Martín also has attended numerous professional courses related to human resources management, including mediation and conflict resolution in a university context, collective bargaining, financial and budget management, personnel management, occupational safety and health, and public accounting.
Concepción Martín was Finance and Human Resources Manager for the Faculty of Media and Communication Science (2008-2015), and for the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology (2003-2008). Her professional experience in the field of administration includes serving as Manager of the Department for the coordination between the university and clinics and the Complutense Veterinary Hospital (September 2001-January 2003), Head of the Occupational Safety and Health Unit (February 2000-August 2001), Administrator of the University Podiatric Clinic, Head of the Department for inspection of building works, Head of Department for Economic Affairs at the Faculty of Education and Head of the Department for the coordination among academic departments at the Faculty of Arts.
