Chief Operating Officer
The Chief Operating Officer is nominated and appointed by the Rector, with the agreement of the Social Council.
In addition to the role assigned by the Statutes, the Chief Operating Officer will perform the following functions:
Concepción Martín Medina received a bachelor’s degrees in Geography and History with a major in Contemporary History, and in Primary Education with a major in Human Sciences. She also has extensive training in the field of Management. She holds master’s degrees in Public Administration and in Occupational Health and Safety, specialising in Workplace Safety. Martín has also attended numerous professional courses related to human resources management, including mediation and conflict resolution in a university context, collective bargaining, financial and budget management, personnel management, occupational health and safety, and public accounting.
Concepción Martín was Manager of the Faculty of Media and Communication Science (2008-2015), and of the Faculty of Political and Social Science (2003-2008). Her professional experience in the field of administration includes serving as Manager of the Department for the coordination between the university and clinics and the Complutense Veterinary Hospital (September 2001-January 2003), Head of the Occupational Health and Safety Unit (February 2000-August 2001), Administrator of the University Podiatric Clinic, Head of the Department for inspection of building works, Head of Department for Economic Affairs at the Faculty of Education and Head of the Department for the coordination among academic departments in the Faculty of Arts.
