Advanced Spanish Literature Course
Course Details
The Advanced Spanish Literature Course is specially designed for advanced-level Spanish students, graduates, and teachers of Spanish. Its aim is to present and explore a range of monographic topics in Spanish and Latin American literature.
The course lasts either 80 or 40 hours, distributed over consecutive weeks in July. Spanish literature classes are held four hours per day.
Spanish Course Contents
Week 1
- The Literature and Theatre of the Republic during the Civil War (Prof. Emilio Peral Vega).
- The World of Theatre in Spain’s Golden Age (Prof. Jesús Ponce Cárdenas).
Week 2
- Latest trends in Hispano-American theatre (Prof. Cristina Bravo Rozas).
- The world of theatre in the Spain of the Golden Age (Francisco Sáez Raposo).
Week 3
- Life in Poetry and Poetry in Life: A Workshop on Classic 20th-Century Poems (Prof. Laura Arroyo).
- Women and Writing in the 16th and 17th Centuries: From the Mystical to the Profane (Profª Esther Borrego Gutiérrez).
Week 4
- Rock, Literature, Comics, and Art in the Madrid “Movida” (Prof. José Luis Ocasar).
- Miguel de Cervantes and Don Quixote: Two Adventurous Lives (Profª: Ana Martínez Pereira).
Teaching Staff
All teachers are university graduates and specialists in teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
Placement Test
No specific placement test is required.
Course Certificate
A diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of the course, which requires passing the exams and meeting the regular class attendance requirements.
