Biography |
I am Associate Professor (PTU) at the Faculty of Physics (UCM). I received my B.Sc. degree in Marine Sciences from University of Vigo (UV), Spain and my PhD from the University Complutense of Madrid in 2010. I joined TROPA group in 2004, since then I have been working on climate variability and air-sea interactions. My research is focused on the impact of the sea surface temperature on tropical and extratropical climate variability at interannual scales, considering the multidecadal changes of the climate state. A list of publications can be found here. I have participated in several research projects (European, National, and Cooperation) being PI in 3. I have participated in two knowledge transfer projects for the industry (Art. 83-Art. 60) related to climate variability, being IP in 1, and collaborating with several international and national centers. I have more than 1100 hours of teaching experience at degree and master's level at UCM and UCLM. I have collaborated in 5 innovative teaching projects, four for the development of the Laboratorio Virtual de Meteorología y Clima (Meteolab) and one about didactic techniques, leading one of themo. I have co-advised two PhD Thesis, both students work now in climate modelization at EuskalmetEJGV and CIEMAT, and currenlty co-advise 4 more. I have advised 18 TFM and 8 TFG. I participate in divulgation activities of climate variability and change. In January 2025, I have contributed to join cooperation with divulgation activities, bringing Meteolab in schools of Senegal. From February 2022 I am the Academic Secretary of the Department of Earth Physics and Astrophysics at the Faculty of Physics (UCM). |
