Biography |
I received my PhD from the University Complutense of Madrid in 2005. Since 2007 I work in TROPA-UCM group on climate variability, especially on the West African Monsoon, from intra-seasonal to decadal time scales. I am also interested in predictability at these time scales. I have participated in a number of projects (national and European) and directed 4 of them, and I have several publications on my research (see LIST OF PUBLICATIONS for more info). I have also collaborated in cooperation projects focused on West Africa.
I have teaching experience at degree and master's level and I have directed and participated in academic innovation projects. I have supervised the PhD thesis of Julián Villamayor (defended in February 2018, UCM), and I have co-adviced the PhD thesis of Coumba Niang from the University Cheik Anta Diop in Dakar-Senegal (defended in April 2015), Cassien Ndiaye (defended in July 2023 at Sorbonne Université in Paris) and of Antonio Castaño (defended in October 2019, UCM). |
