I am an associated professor at UCM. I study the processes associated with ocean-atmosphere interactions and their impact on climate variability from intraseasonal to decadal scales. I am also interested in how these processes are represented in climate models, as this has implications for the predictability of impacts. I am interested in ocean-atmosphere interactions, upper ocean processes, variability and adjustment in the Atlantic Ocean circulation, the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) and Tropical Atlantic Variability (TAV). I currently co-lead the OceansForFuture project (OFF, from MITECO) and participate in other research projects such as DISTROPIA (Ministry of Research and Science) and NextGEMS. I co-coordinate the Inter-university Network on Climate Migrations and Refugees (MASCARAS) and co-direct the CLI2MAD Service-Learning project. I teach in the Physics degree and in the Master's degree in Meteorology and Geophysics at UCM.
