Transformaciones Sociales (TRANSOC)

El Instituto Complutense de Sociología para el Estudio de las Transformaciones Sociales Contemporáneas (TRANSOC) es un centro de investigación de la Universidad Complutense resultante de la convergencia de tres grupos de investigación (GRESCO, EGECO, CIBERSOMOSAGUAS) surgidos en la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología. Posteriormente se incorporaron otros tres grupos de investigación (GISMAT, GRISE y Psicología social: desigualdades, género y violencia). La sede oficial del Instituto se encuentra en la Escuela Profesional de Relaciones Laborales de la UCM.

TRANSOC orienta su actividad investigadora al estudio de las transformaciones sociales del mundo contemporáneo, apostando por una perspectiva sociológica abierta al diálogo multidisciplinar, tan necesario en las ciencias sociales. Su orientación integradora se traduce, también, en el intento de compaginar la investigación empírica y teórica, en promover un espacio de encuentro y mutuo trasvase a distintas orientaciones teórico-metodológicas y en abogar por una aproximación al estudio de lo social tanto desde una perspectiva micro como macro sociológica.

The Complutense Institute of Sociology for the Study of Contemporary Social Transformations (TRANSOC) is a research center at the Complutense University resulting from the convergence of three research groups (GRESCO, EGECO, CIBERSOMOSAGUAS) that emerged from the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology. Three other research groups (GISMAT, GRISE and Psicología social: desigualdades, género y violencia) subsequently joined. The Institute's official headquarters are located at the UCM's Professional School of Labor Relations.

TRANSOC focuses its research activity on the study of social transformations in the contemporary world, committing to a sociological perspective open to multidisciplinary dialogue, which is so necessary in the social sciences. Its integrative approach also translates into an attempt to combine empirical and theoretical research, to promote a space for encounter and mutual exchange between different theoretical and methodological orientations, and to advocate for an approach to the study of the social from both a micro and macro sociological perspective.
