Mercedes Jiménez de la Fuente

Mercedes Jiménez de la Fuente holds a Ph. D. in Spanish Literature from the Complutense University of Madrid since 1998. Her initial research interests were focused towards the study of narratology in 19th-Century Spanish Literature (Larra, Espronceda, Navarro Villoslada, Gil y Carrasco, Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda, Carolina Coronado). More recently she has been working in Comparative Literature, including into her research modernist authors such as Virginia Woolf, Henry James or Andrei Biely.  She is also interested in women writers and performance studies. She has taken part in numerous seminars and conferences on literature, education and journalism. She has collaborated in the publication of Apolo en Pafos by Leopoldo Alas Clarín (1988). She is also a contributor to the volume Cityscapes: World Cities and Their Cultural Industries
