Profile

Juan Jiménez is professor (profesor contratado doctor), member of Department of Computer Architecture, System Engineering and Automatic Control (DACYA) and member of the research group ISCAR. He received his BSE in Fundamental Physics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and his PhD in Automatic Control from Universidad Nacional de Eduación a Distancia. He is member of the IEEE. He was in the past (1993-2003) with CENIM (Centro nacional de investigaciones metalúrgicas), a Research Institute belonging to CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas).

Juan Jiménez"s main research area of interest is in multi-body/multi-agent systems, distributed control and cooperative control. He has taken part in around 15 research projects, some of them inside different European Framework Programs. Early projects were devoted to control and simulation applications for the steel industry, more recently he has worked in applications to avionics and at present he is involved in projects related to the control of fleets of Autonomous Vehicles (AGVs and ASVs).

He, usually teaches every year a semester on Computer Numerical Methods. Depending on the years, he has taught some semester courses on Signal Processing, Modern Control Theory and Applications, Neural Networks and AI Applied to Control.
