Manuel Morán Cabré

 

 

 

 

Bio

Born in Madrid, 1952. Graduated in Mathematics from Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), 1974. Worked as a professor at the "Matemático Puig Adam" College (public secondary school) from 1977-1988. Received his Doctorate in Mathematics from UCM in 1988, under the supervision of Miguel de Guzmán Ozamiz.
Served as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics from 1991-2002. Promoted to Full Professor at the Faculty of Economics in 2002, where he worked until his retirement in 2017. Remains an honorary professor at UCM to this day.
Served as a professor in Estalmat (Program for the encouragement of young mathematicaltalents) from 2001-2009.
Served as the Director (IP) of six research projects within the National Research Plan.

 

Research interests

Author or coauthor of approximately forty articles spanning various fields including Fractal Geometry, Dynamical Systems, Ecological Economics, Statistical Physics, and Dynamic Optimization (both theoretical and applied to Environmental Management). Coauthor of two popular science books on Chaotic Dynamics and Fractal Geometry, as well as four textbooks on Mathematics for Secondary School.
