Bio

Professor (Catedrático) of Geometry and Topology of the Complutense University since 1991. Head of the Department of Geometry and Topology (2010-2014). Corresponding Member of the Royal Academy of Science of Spain.  Research stays at the Universities of Manchester, Oxford and Liverpool and at the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Science.

 

Research interests

Research in Geometric Topology, Shape Theory and Topology of Dynamical Systems. Current research interests:  Conley index theory, Topological aspects of population dynamics, Qualitative theory of the Lorenz equations and the Lorenz attractor, Qualitative theory of bifurcations, Topology of the Hopf bifurcation, Theory of stability and attraction.
