Innovation Projects

Patricia Regina Mecha

PhD Student

I completed my Psychology degree at UCM. Also, I have a General Health Psychology and Neuropsychology masters both at UCM. My interest in research started during my last years of the Psychology degree where I received a research assistant scholarship in the Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Processes and Speech Therapy department of the UCM in which I collaborated in the development of new psychometric scales for the cognitive decline assessment.

Currently, my area of interests integrates the study of resilience and its cognitive and emotional processes, like cognitive flexibility, inhibition, working memory and affective control, among others, implicated in executive functions. Derived from this area of study I pretend to complete a PhD to identify the cognitive, behavioral and emotional patterns that characterize resilient individuals in order to develop training programs in people who present some type of psychopathology, specially, anxiety and depression.
