Laura de la Parra Fernández
Laura de la Parra Fernández es Profesora Ayudante Doctora en el Departamento de Estudios Ingleses: Lingüística y Literatura de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Actualmente es Coordinadora Académica del Máster en Estudios Norteamericanos (UCM-UAH). Es Doctora en Estudios Literarios por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado y Premio “Félix Martín” a la mejor tesis de estudios norteamericanos de SAAS), donde comenzó su trayectoria académica como investigadora predoctoral FPU. Es miembro del grupo de investigación de la Universidad Complutense “Estudios de género en el ámbito de los países de habla inglesa”, dirigido por la Dra. Isabel Durán. Es miembro del equipo investigador de los proyectos de investigación financiados por el Plan Nacional del Ministerio de Ciencia “Historia cultural de los gestos”, a cargo del Dr. Javier Moscoso (CSIC), y “Género y patografía desde una perspectiva transnacional”, a cargo de la Dra. Isabel Durán (UCM). Ha sido investigadora visitante en Birkbeck College, University of London y en Harvard University, con financiación del Ministerio de Educación, en el Instituto Franklin-UAH, gracias a una beca Margaret Fuller-AEDEAN, y en Project Narrative, Ohio State University, gracias a una beca postdoctoral Fulbright Ruth Lee Kennedy.
Su investigación se centra en la literatura británica y estadounidense de los siglos XX y XXI escrita por mujeres, con especial interés en las humanidades médicas, la historia de las emociones, la escritura autobiográfica y la escritura experimental.

Laura de la Parra Fernández is Assistant Professor at the Department of English at Complutense University of Madrid. She is currently the Academic Coordinator of the Master's in North American Studies (UCM-UAH). She holds a PhD in Literary Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid (Extraordinary Doctorate Award and "Félix Martín" Award for the Best Thesis in North American Studies from SAAS), where she began her academic career as a Research Fellow. She is a member of the Complutense University research group "Gender Studies in English-speaking countries", led by Dr. Isabel Durán. She is a member of the research team of the research projects funded by the Ministry of Science "A Cultural History of Gestures", led by Prof. Javier Moscoso (CSIC), and "Gender and pathography from a transnational perspective", led by Prof. Isabel Durán (UCM). She has been a visiting researcher at Birkbeck College, University of London and Harvard University, funded by the Ministry of Education, at the Instituto Franklin-UAH, funded by a Margaret Fuller-AEDEAN grant, and at Project Narrative, Ohio State University, funded by a Fulbright Ruth Lee Kennedy Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Her research focuses on twentieth- and twenty-first-century British and American literature written by women, with special interests in the medical humanities, the history of emotions, autobiographical writing, and experimental writing.
