Álvar Menéndez Cámara
Álvar Menéndez Cámara es investigador predoctoral en el Departamento de Estudios Ingleses: Lingüística y Literatura de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, con un contrato asociado al proyecto “Illness Narratives: Towards a Gendered Health(care) Awareness”. Graduado en Biotecnología y Estudios Ingleses, también realizó los másteres de Neurociencia y de Estudios Literarios en la UCM. Actualmente, se encuentra trabajando en su tesis doctoral bajo la dirección de la Dra. Laura de la Parra Fernández. Su investigación se centra en literatura anglófona contemporánea, con especial interés en las humanidades médicas, la teoría de los afectos y las intersecciones entre política y literatura.

Álvar Menéndez Cámara is a predoctoral researcher at the Department of English Studies at Complutense University of Madrid, with a contract under the project “Illness Narratives: Towards a Gendered Health(care) Awareness”. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and another in English Studies, and he also has an MA in Neuroscience and another one in Literary Studies. He is currently working on his PhD thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Laura de la Parra Fernández. His research focuses in contemporary anglophone literature, with special interest in Medical Humanities, Affect Theory, and the intersections between politics and literature.
