Jorge Arús Hita

Jorge Arús Hita es doctor en Lingüística Inglesa (2003) y profesor de Lengua y Lingüística Inglesa en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid desde 1997. Su docencia incluye las áreas de lingüística computacional, lingüística contrastiva, e-learning e inglés como lengua extranjera. Sus publicaciones incluyen artículos sobre descripción tipológica basada en corpus, lingüística contrastiva y enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera, principalmente desde una perspectiva sistémico-funcional, en diversas revistas nacionales e internacionales y volúmenes editados. También ha publicado varios trabajos sobre temas relacionados con el e-learning. Ha sido redactor de la revista de estudios ingleses Atlantis y coordinador de Campus Virtual en la Facultad de Filología de la UCM, donde actualmente es Vicedecano de Innovación, Tecnologías y Equipamiento. Entre sus publicaciones más destacadas, es coautor de Systemic-Functional Grammar of Spanish: a Contrastive Study with English (2010, con Julia Lavid y Juan Rafael Zamorano), y co-editor de English Modality. Core, Periphery and Evidentiality (2013, con Juana Marín, Marta Carretero y Joan van der Auwera, Languages for Specific Purposes in the Digital Era (2014, con Tim Read y Elena Bárcena) y The Dynamicity of Communication below, around and above the Clause (2016, con Ben Clarke).

Jorge Arús Hita, PhD in English Linguistics (2003), has been teaching English language and linguistics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, since 1997. His teaching includes the areas of computational linguistics, contrastive linguistics, e-learning and EFL. His publications include articles on corpus-based typological description, contrastive linguistics and EFL teaching, mostly from a Systemic Functional Linguistics perspective, in various national and international journals and edited volumes. He has also published several papers on e-learning-related topics. He has been copy editor of the English-studies journal Atlantis and coordinator of blended-learning at the School of Philology, UCM where he is currently Associate Dean for Innovation and Technologies. Among his main publications, he is co-author of Systemic-Functional Grammar of Spanish: a Contrastive Study with English (2010, with Julia Lavid and Juan Rafael Zamorano), and co-editor of English Modality.
