Elena Domínguez Romero

Elena Domínguez Romero is associate professor of English language and linguistics at the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). Her recent research interests comprise evidentiality and positioning in media discourse as well as applied linguistics and innovative teaching research. She is currently co-leading a research project on stance strategies in immigration and racism-related discourse (RACISMMAFF, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation/FEDER with reference PID2021-125327NB-I00) and has participated in three other funded research projects on stance, and evidentiality and modality in European languages EUROEVIDMOD (FFI2011-23181), EVIDISPRAG (FFI2015-65474-P) and STANCEDISC (PGC2018-095798-B-I00). Moreover, she has participated in the project “English Poetic and Rhetorical Treatises of the Tudor Period” (MINECO-FFI2010-19279). Her participation in teaching innovation projects is also prolific.

Elena Domínguez Romero is co-editor of the volumes Evidentiality and Epistemic Modality: Conceptual and Descriptive Issues (Peter Lang 2023), Evidentiality and Modality in European Languages (Peter Lang 2017), and Thinking Modally. English and Contrastive Studies on Modality (Cambridge Scholars 2015). Her publications comprise over 70 papers in international refereed journals (Journal of Pragmatics 2022, 2021; EPI 2020; Intercultural Pragmatics 2019; Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching 2023; AILA Review 2021; Computer Assisted Language Learning 2020; Thinking Skills and Creativity 2020; Education and Information Technologies 2020; Teaching English with Technology 2020) and book chapters and additional co-edited volumes in DeGruyter (‘Evidentiality in Galician’ 2022, ‘Evidentiality in Portuguese’ 2022), Routledge, Springer, Palgrave, Peter Lang, IGI Global, Multilingual Matters, Bloomsbury or McGraw Hill.

 

Elena Domínguez Romero es Profesora Titular de lengua y lingüística inglesa en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (España). Sus intereses de investigación recientes comprenden la evidencialidad y el posicionamiento en el discurso de los medios, así como la lingüística aplicada y la investigación en docencia innovadora. Actualmente codirige un proyecto de investigación sobre estrategias de posicionamiento en el discurso relacionado con la inmigración y el racismo (RACISMMAFF, financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación de España y fondos FEDER con referencia PID2021-125327NB-I00) pero ha participado en otros tres proyectos de investigación financiados sobre posicionamiento, evidencialidad y modalidad en lenguas europeas EUROEVIDMOD (FFI2011-23181), EVIDISPRAG (FFI2015-65474-P) y STANCEDISC (PGC2018-095798-B-I00). Además, ha participado en el Proyecto “Tratados poéticos y retóricos ingleses del período Tudor” (MINECO-FFI2010-19279). Su participación en proyectos de innovación docente es igualmente prolífica.
