El Centro de Excelencia Press-Forward, financiado por el programa Erasmus+ de la Unión Europea, invita a todas las personas interesadas en el ámbito del derecho a la información y la ética profesional a participar de una nueva edición del Foro Internacional de Ética y Derecho de la Información (FIÉDI), que este año se desarrollará como una preconferencia de la IAMCR, en Galway. Esta edición se titula "Derecho y ética de la información: una mirada hacia el pasado para pensar el futuro".

En un contexto histórico de consolidación de derechos cabe preguntarse cómo han mejorado el marco de derechos informativos en las últimas décadas. Esta preconferencia propone mirar con detalle cuáles son los desafíos del periodismo en el momento actual, donde se observan fenómenos de censura, cancelación, odio, desórdenes informativos, o bloqueo de redes sociales y, en particular cuál es su proyección en las próximas décadas.

Una reflexión que es importante dado que Europa y todos los países miembros de la ONU  se preparan para celebrar los 80 años de la Declaración Humanos de 1948, los 44 de la Convención Americana de Costa Rica o, los 50 de la Constitución Española de 1978. Además, recientemente se han cumplido los 25 años de la Declaración de Derechos Fundamentales de la Unión Europea, por lo que podemos preguntarnos y analizar cómo es el ejercicio del periodismo en estos momentos, las garantías para los profesionales, los medios y también el público, las audiencias.

Requisitos formales para el envío de Abstract:

• Máximo de 500 palabras en español o inglés.
• Citas en el texto, si las hay, en formato APA.
• Tras la aceptación del abstract, NO será necesario el envío de la comunicación completa.

The Press-Forward Centre of Excellence, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, invites all those interested in the field of the right to information and professional ethics to participate in a new edition of the International Forum on Ethics and Information Law (FIÉDI), which this year will be held as a pre-conference of IAMCR, in Galway. This edition is entitled "Communication Law and Ethics: Looking back and moving forward".

In a historical context of consolidating rights, it is worth asking how the framework of information rights has improved in recent decades. This pre-conference proposes to look in detail at the challenges facing journalism at the current moment — where phenomena such as censorship, cancellation, hate, information disorders, and the blocking of social media platforms are observed — and in particular, what their projection will be over the coming decades. This reflection is especially important given that Europe and all UN member states are preparing to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 44th anniversary of the American Convention signed in Costa Rica, and the 50th anniversary of the Spanish Constitution of 1978. Furthermore, the 25th anniversary of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights was recently reached, prompting us to examine and analyse the current state of journalism practice, the guarantees afforded to professionals, media outlets, and the public and audiences alike.
