Aránzazu Meana Mañes

Aránzazu Meana is a veterinarian and professor of parasitic diseases at the Department of Animal Health of the Complutense University of Madrid. Her research areas include the epidemiology and control of parasitic diseases, focusing mainly on various parasitoses of domestic and useful animals such as bees, caused by both ecto- and endoparasites. She has published numerous scientific publications on the control of parasitoses (including varrroosis and nosemosis), including several books, among which stands out "40 Q&A on Health and Beekeeping Production ''.

She has been the director of the master program entitled Honey Bees Health and Production at UCM. She is active member of the Spanish Society of Parasitology (SEP) and the World Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (WAAVP), and a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Parasitology (EVPC), of which she is currently the president.
