Fernando Echeverría Rey
Licenciado en Historia (1999) y Filología Clásica (2005), obtuve el doctorado en Historia Antigua (2007) con un proyecto de investigación sobre la teoría de la "revolución hoplita" y la reconstrucción historiográfica de la formación de la pólis griega. He sido Investigador Contratado "Ramón y Cajal" en el Departamento de Historia Antigua de la Universidad Complutense entre 2012 y 2018 y Profesor Contratado Doctor entre 2018 y 2022. He sido también Coordinador del Máster Interuniversitario en Historia y Ciencias de la Antigüedad (UCM-UAM) entre 2017 y 2021, y Secretario de la revista Gerión entre 2017 y 2022. En la actualidad soy Coordinador del Doble Grado en Historia y Filología Clásica, desde 2021.
Desde mi proyecto de tesis, publicado en 2008 (Ciudadanos, Campesinos y Soldados: La Formación de la Pólis Griega y la Teoría de la Revolución Hoplita, Madrid, Polifemo), mi investigación se ha centrado en aspectos diversos de la historia militar griega, la literatura arcaica y clásica, y la iconografía, especialmente la pintura vascular ática arcaica. He publicado artículos en revistas (Ancient Society 2011, Classical Philology 2012, BICS 2015) y en volúmenes colectivos (New Perspectives on Ancient Warfare 2010, Brill; Encyclopedia of Ancient Battles, 2017, Wiley-Blackwell; Aeschylus and War. Comparative Perspectives on Seven against Thebes, 2017, Routledge; Brill’s Companion to Sieges in the Ancient Mediterranean, 2019, Brill). Formo parte del Consejo Editorial de la colección Warfare in the Ancient Mediterranean World (Brill).
