Iñaki San Pedro

  • Iñaki San Pedro graduated in Theoretical Physics at the University of London (Royal Holloway College). He held a PhD scholarship (FPI scholarship) associated to the first successful project of the MCISR group at Complutense University of Madrid, and went on to complete a PhD on causal inference in quantum mechanics in 2007, under the supervision of Mauricio Suárez: http://www.euskomedia.org/PDFAnlt/riev/53/53649669.pdf. He was a prominent member of the MSR group from its inception in 2004 until 2013, and remains an affiliate. From January 2010-December 2012 he held a Juan de la Cierva Fellowship at Complutense University, after having spent a year at the Centre for Philosophy of the Natural and Social Sciences (CPNSS), London School of Economics (LSE), with a post-doctoral Fellowship from the Basque regional government (Spain). Since January 2013 he is a researcher at the University of the Basque Country, UPV-EHU. His main research interests include causal inference in genuinely indeterministic contexts in general, and quantum mechanics in particular. More specifically, San Pedro's research focuses on the characterisation of the concept of causation in quantum mechanics and how such concept is related to the idea of locality.
