Sofyan Iblisdir got his Ph.D. from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (2003). He then worked in the Group of Applied Physics at Université de Genève, Switzerland (2003-2005). He shared his time between the University of Barcelona and the Complutense University since then. He is at the mathQI group since January 2022.

His research lies at the interface between quantum information theory and mathematical condensed matter physics. His current interests cover quantum computation, topological phases, tensor networks, and Markov chains.
