On April 22, 2025, Eduardo Muñoz Palomeque (ITC-UCM) successfully defended his doctoral thesis at the University of Burgos, receiving the highest distinction of summa cum laude.

Key Research Highlights:

• Main Objective: To maximize wind power extraction and minimize structural vibrations in both onshore and floating offshore wind turbines.

• Technological Innovation: The study developed hybrid intelligent control strategies by combining artificial intelligence (radial basis neural networks and unsupervised learning) with traditional PID controllers.

• Impact: The proposed systems allow wind turbines to adapt to changing dynamic conditions, significantly improving energy efficiency and mechanical stability during power tracking (MPPT).

• Supervision: The research was led by Dr. Enrique Sierra García (UBU) and Dr. Matilde Santos (UCM/ITC-UCM).
