It studies the growth strategies - accumulation models, institutional environments and modalities of external insertion - followed in the European Union and its member countries.

The priorities are the analysis of the economic crisis and the singularities in the community space, alternatives and future scenarios. It also studies the economic structures, divergence and difficulties in moving towards political union in Europe. Likewise, analysis of austerity policies, fiscal discipline, the effects of weak growth and imbalances within the Eurozone are object of research.
